DESIGN

With my graphic design minor, I love being creative and experimenting with digital design. I have experience with Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Figma, Canva and Adobe InDesign. I have a passion for designing and creating art that carries meaning behind it.

“Mission Hills: New Hot Spot” Poster

In my spring 2024 typography class, we focused on the alignment of text and symmetry, meant to highlight a neighborhood in San Diego we were assigned. I chose to use vibrant colors that went well with the photos I took of destinations in Mission Hills, and having the poster flow through each aspect of it.

Every photo and graphic is designed & taken by Claire Plath.

“Mission Hills in a Bubble” Poster

Another poster based on Mission Hills. For this poster, I decided to be creative and make the aspects of Mission Hills stand out more through graphics. I love experimenting with colors and symmetry.

CP Coffee & Library

I created “CP coffee & library” during my intro to computer graphics class. It is a mock menu on a coffee shop that also sells books. I created the menu and also illustrated the sketches using Adobe Illustrator.

Work as the graphic design officer for PLNU marketing club

As the graphic design officer for PLNU’s marketing club from August 2024 until May 2025, I was able to learn so much and improve upon my creative skills.

The role’s tasks included making posters which were also converted into social media posts, brochures, slideshows and punchcards to promote the club and to keep students informed on events the club was hosting. I utilized CANVA and Adobe Illustrator to create each design. I also created the logo for PLNU marketing club which became the club’s unique “trademark.”

Every graphic is designed by Claire Plath.

Work as the layout editor for “The Point” newspaper

As the layout editor for PLNU’s student-ran newspaper “The Point” from August 2023 until May 2025, I put together the layout for the newspaper every week using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. My tasks included copying and pasting each story onto the layout document, catching mistakes, proofreading, putting each stories corresponding pictures with it and making each page look visually pleasing and cohesive.

Below are some of my favorite newspaper pages I have put together and designed.
